Summary / Read source ↗

- Coucou is a tool that shows the working status of AI coding agents at a glance at the top edge of the screen, such as the Mac notch or Windows and Linux, and allows immediate handling of permission approvals or question responses. - Supported AI agents include Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, etc. Users can interact with Mochi, a character that follows the mouse pointer, to drag files or communicate with the AI. - The Mac version is developed with Swift 6 and SwiftUI, while Windows and Linux versions are based on Tauri 2; each uses the operating system's keychain and credential storage to manage API key security. - The Windows installer is currently temporarily unavailable officially due to a false positive by Microsoft Defender, and the Linux version is in beta, supporting only the x86_64 architecture.

Editorial opinion startupxo

The idea of a small character mochi inside the notch that intuitively shows and interacts with the AI session is quite unique. However, since the Windows installation is currently blocked by a security false positive, it seems necessary to experience firsthand how smooth the actual usability and management of API keys by operating system are. I'm also curious about how the real-time status display feature for each AI agent will affect workflow.
