How StartupXO handles your account, contributions and usage records.
Accounts and activity
You can read without signing in. Google sign-in uses Firebase Authentication, which processes sign-in information supplied by Google, such as your account identifier, email, display name and profile image.
We store your name, bio, posts, comments, votes, flags, saved posts and review records with your account to provide the service and apply its rules.
Public information
Other readers and search engines can see your public posts, comments, name and bio. Translations follow the same visibility rules. Content under review or hidden is visible only to its author and moderators.
Do not include addresses, contact details or other personal information you do not want to make public. Links and summaries of public posts may be shared on connected social channels.
Storage and service providers
We use Google Firebase for sign-in, Google Cloud SQL for community data such as posts and comments, and Firebase App Hosting to serve the website.
Public posts and comments are sent to a translation provider, and we store both the original and its translations. Submitted content is sent to a review provider to check it against posting rules. Translation reports and operational records are used to correct problems and run the service.
Usage statistics and browser storage
Google Analytics collects usage statistics, including pages visited and information about the browsing environment. Our hosting service processes access and error records. These help us understand usage, maintain security and investigate problems.
We use browser storage and cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language and display settings. You can clear them in your browser; you may then need to sign in or choose your settings again.
Corrections and deletion
Account information and contributions are stored to provide the service. Deleting a post or comment clears its content and stored translations. A deleted entry may remain in a conversation that has replies.
Email us below to request access, corrections or deletion of your account and data. We verify account ownership before processing the request. Copies already shared elsewhere or saved by search engines may be managed separately by those services.
