- The Gemini agent Google announced at the Gemini at Work event is designed to handle tasks users assign in the background across multiple apps and devices. Users give instructions by chatting in one place, the Gemini Enterprise app. - According to the source, it works directly inside Workspace apps such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar, and can also be called from external apps such as Slack and Microsoft 365, as well as from phones, desktops, and the web. - The source says the agent runs in the cloud, so it keeps the same work context across connected devices. This is the article's description, and the source does not include verification of actual behavior. - The source says tasks can be divided among role-specific sub-agents, and that it can operate as a 'coworker agent' with a dedicated account and an email address in the '@agents.company.com' format. The source also says it automatically selects an AI model suited to each task.

This setting, a coworker agent with its own dedicated email, is where I get stuck first. If you hand over email and scheduling as if to a person, I wonder how the record shows who gave which instructions. The article has no explanation of permission separation or how to check work logs, so if a company uses this, I think that part needs to be reviewed separately first. Have you ever had Gemini Enterprise take on a recurring task like organizing weekly materials at your company?
