I wonder whether, if a law is passed requiring that a system breach be reported when an incident happens, that kind of wording will also end up in the AI service contracts that small and mid-sized companies sign. The article only lists the rules Smith wants and does not cover the legislative timeline or who the rules would apply to, so it is hard to tell that part from the original text alone. Has anyone asked their vendor whether the product gets an external evaluation before deployment, or whether there is a process for security incident notification?
