- Xbox has launched a new division called 'XP' to manage experiences beyond games in an integrated way. The division handles films, TV series, fan merchandise, live events, and creator and brand collaborations. - XP is made up of four investment areas. Xbox Pictures extends game worlds into films and TV dramas, Xbox Products develops merchandise for fans to enjoy, Xbox Places runs events and experience spaces for the community, and Xbox Partnerships works with creators and brands to build new experiences. - The XP division is led by Kayleen Walters, head of Mojang. Maria Angelidou-Smith, former chief product officer at Reddit, will take over the Mojang CEO role on October 19. - Xbox is already working on screen projects, including a Minecraft sequel film, the Fallout 3 season on Prime Video, a Call of Duty film, and a Diablo animation for Netflix.

Editorial opinion startupxo

It's noteworthy that movies, merchandise, and events are grouped under a single department called XP. Considering that Xbox Entertainment Studios closed down in 2012 after just 2, the key this time seems to be what the organization and leadership are doing differently. As a game fan, I'm curious if you have ever actually looked for Xbox-related videos or merch.
