Summary / Read source ↗

- Google Docs now lets you open Markdown (.md, .markdown) files directly, edit them, and work on them with others. Markdown is a simple document format that uses symbols to mark headings and lists. - In Google Drive, Markdown files can be viewed as formatted previews, according to the original article. - The original article does not state the supported scope, pricing, or which account types are eligible, and directs readers to the feature description link for details.

We can't tell from the original how tables and code blocks will look in the preview, so you'd need to upload an actual file to find out. Since only links are provided for the supported scope and account types, the way they open may differ depending on the plan. For anyone who writes notes in Markdown and shares them with a team, have you compared the joint editing results by uploading one existing file?
