Summary / Read source ↗

- German Transport Minister Steffen Bilger said the name 'Full Self-Driving' could be somewhat misleading because the software does not perform the entire driving task. According to the source, Tesla proposed the name change after talking with him last month. - The feature's name has changed from 'Full Self-Driving (Supervised)' to 'Tesla Assisted Driving'. The source still explains that drivers must pay attention to the road and take over driving when necessary. - Bilger said he would support approval across Europe in an EU-wide vote that could take place this year. The source reports that the Netherlands was the first European country to approve the feature earlier. - The source reports that Reuters covered Tesla's European approval campaign as being based on 'flawed company safety research'. This is Reuters' reporting, and the source does not confirm it as fact.

The fact that the "Full" label was dropped while the condition requiring attention remains the same stands out to me. The article does not say whether only the name changed or whether the features changed too, so if you actually use it in Europe, you may want to check the restrictions in the user manual first. The part saying the vote will happen within this year also remains a question to check for anyone who is weighing when to buy a car.
